Royal Passenger Liner: Pattaya & Hua Hin Ferry

The much awaited Hua Hin – Pattaya ferry which was postponed, and postponed again, and again before finally beginning service in February 2017, has once again temporary stopped all services from 17 Sep to 31 Oct 2018.

The double-decker passenger catamaran has 286 economy seats (THB 1250), 44 business class seats (THB 1550) and three VIP rooms with 4, 6 & 8 seats respectively (THB 7000, 10500, 14000).

The ferry departure times are as follows;

  • Pattaya – Hua Hin: 13.00-15.00 hrs.
  • Hua Hin – Pattaya: 16.00-18.00 hrs.

I personally do not think their schedule timing is good for all an year operation, as during the low season monsoons rains and strong winds usually occur during the afternoons, making the seas choppy.

Initially I had high hopes for this service, but feel their daily operation is too much because they are not reaching the load volume they expected, which was expected. I would suggest they operate four days a week instead, especially on: Sun, Tue, Thu, Sat.

Just an idea.
