Covid-19 has certainly been a life changer for many in the travel industry, myself included.
Thirty-eight years in the hospitality and tourism industry is a long time, you see and experience a lot during those years, and naturally, you think you’ve seen it all, but I certainly wasn’t expecting a virus to end it all. We’ve gone through war, disasters, financial crises, and technological disruptions, etc. but who would have thought that a disease would send us back to the middle ages.
I suppose you could call my predicament now “early retirement”, but at 57 years old it’s a little early to play the gardener or a cruise ship passenger, but what can we do, I wasn’t the only person in this industry to end up drifting on a lifeboat. But now that I am safely at shore, what to do?
I decided to start a blog to document my journey, mentally and physically that is.
