This project has been in the making for a while, though I hand intended to make it more detailed, but just couldn’t find the time to put it all together, so here’s the simplified version.
North of Bangkok in Bang Krasan, Bang Pa-In District of Ayuthaya, the Chao Phraya River branches off and flows into a stream called Klong Prem Prachakorn. This canal starts off not very wide in the beginning but widens as it nears Bangkok.
The approximate length from north to south is approximately 50 kilometers, and along the way you’ll find many settlements, a mix of legal and illegal, aka squatters. But as the squatters stayed longer their houses grew larger in size and communities formed. This videography is a documentary of those communities located not too far from where I live.
Yes these are low-income communities, generally associated with crime and all things bad, but you will quickly realize that is not the case.
