It’s been a long time since I’ve taken the kids to Impact Speed Park to do some laps, mainly because of COVID-19, but also because of different schedules.
Since they are offering discounts up until April 4th, that was a good enough reason to make an immediate visit, at least in my books.
After renewing our annual membership, we were told to proceed immediately to the pit stop! No chance to even mentally prepare for the race.
We decided on the electric go-karts today because I mistakenly thought that my daughter wasn’t eligible for the faster karts (you need to break accomplish a certain record to do so), my bad. Anyway, on second thoughts, the gasoline karts would probably have caused a crash & burn due to our lack of practice. Funny, something as simple as go-karts requires time & practice, even from regular car drivers like us. This evening we were totally slaughtered by two primary school kids, no kidding. Tawan said that’s because they have lower body weight and could go faster….. yeah right, it also requires skills and them little midgets were on a higher level.
Anyway, the plan is to return on Sunday to drive the faster gasoline karts. Electric karts are good, but with a maximum speed of 45 kph, it doesn’t give you the thrill of near death…. 🙂 The gasoline go-karts max out at near 80 kph, and that’s more like it because you really need to pick your lines well or risk wiping out.
