Looking at the tourism industry in Thailand is like looking into space, everything is so distant, sometimes you can see things clearly, other times not at all. Discussions with friends in the industry only paints a bleak picture of our future, unemployed, unemployable, and uncared for.
That does sound a bit depressing, thankfully I’m not suicidal, and even though I appear pessimistic I’ve been working on a couple of projects/websites that hopefully will produce revenue in the coming future, or at least it will have kept me busy during the pandemic.
I’ve always wanted to create a portal for Hua Hin and Chiang Mai, the reason being is because they are relatively small towns with limited offerings 🙂 and thereby creating a portal doesn’t seem like a huge project. Since typing this it has me very interested in actually starting such a project…… hmmm.
Two new websites that are now up & running now are La Casita Hua Hin and Hua Hin Holiday, both are promoting condo and apartment rentals in Hua Hin, with an online booking system and calendar system linked to my Airbnb account. I opted to use the same theme for both websites because it has good SEO, this is evident in the first completed website, La Casita Hua Hin, which has achieved good search engine ranking without having to pay for Google Ad fees.
Whether the websites will produce volume bookings is to be seen, though the core purpose is to push the Airbnb ranking, as apparently, Airbnb likes to have a link back, similar concept to what search engines used to search for.
